Senior Software Engineer (Full-Stack) – Mobile Healthcare Platform

München
Full-time
Permanent employee

What you'll do

We are building a mobile healthcare platform that is used in daily patient care. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will design, build, and operate the services behind the product, from APIs and clinical data integrations to the platform components that keep everything reliable in production. Your work directly supports clinicians in their daily workflows and contributes to better patient care.
A significant architectural transition is ahead of us as we evolve how our platform integrates with hospital systems. You'll help shape this next phase, working across APIs, clinical data integration, cloud and on-premise environments. As part of a small team, your technical judgement will have a direct impact on the product and its future direction.
  • Design, build, and operate production-grade backend services
  • Design APIs consumed by mobile and web applications
  • Work with clinical data and healthcare interoperability standards
  • Own service quality end to end, including automated testing, CI/CD, observability, and production diagnostics
  • Produce the technical documentation and evidence required in a regulated development process
  • Contribute to architecture decisions across cloud and on-premise deployment models

What we're looking for

We're looking for an experienced engineer who enjoys solving technical challenges, takes ownership, and is excited to help shape a product used in daily patient care.
  • Several years of experience building and operating production backend services
  • Strong understanding of API design, software architecture, and data modelling
  • Hands-on experience with containers, CI/CD, automated testing, and relational databases
  • Proficiency in at least one modern backend language and an openness to learn others. We currently work with Python, Go, .NET, and Rust
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot, and sound judgement on when and how to use them effectively
  • Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards such as FHIR, HL7, or DICOM is a plus
  • Experience working with regulated software, medical devices, safety-critical systems, AWS, or customer-managed infrastructure is beneficial
  • A structured, quality-focused way of working and the ability to thrive in a documented development process
  • Professional English communication skills; German is a strong advantage
  • Interest in taking on increasing technical ownership as the product and team continue to grow
